Pros

The work is rewarding, the co-workers are great. There are ample opportunities for free CEUs.

Cons

The PTO structure is a little different. I was told they recognize 6 holidays but that is just for holiday pay for hourly staff. Everything is all in one pot so if you are sick you are losing vacation time. It’s a high burnout job with not enough time off or salary increases to retain staff.

Pros

Good job starting out if interested in the mental health field

Cons

Current supervisor at the Elkridge location enables questionable ethical practices among social workers, such as deleting some parts of an discharge summary as to avoid compromising the hospital. she also is too focused on planning her future vacations instead of managing the constant bullying from certain colleagues and overall lack of support as an supervise. Only opportunities for growth is to supervise interns or do some of the supervisor’s tasks when she’s working at the center of eating disorders in towson. Also, some units are actually breaking OHCQ by allowing patients in the nurses station and barely doing groups. Current supervisor is clearly burnt out and devoid of empathy because the money from being manager of two different locations is worth it if it means there’s a lack of investment towards her supervises. As a result, supervision is poor because there’s no manager to refer to if there are any questions or issues in person.
