Working at this company has been a rollercoaster of disappointment. Despite my dedication, there have been no raises, bonuses or promotions in two years, making it feel like our efforts are undervalued. The company's inconsistent approach to staffing is baffling - laying off over 30% of the workforce while continuing to hire new employees during 'difficult times' is counterproductive. Furthermore, the two restructures since I joined were perplexing, with the second appearing unnecessary. Leadership's decision-making has been questionable, leaving us feeling like they are out of touch with the reality on the ground. They don't seem to grasp the importance of listening to employees' needs and desires for job satisfaction, and their delayed attempts to address concerns have only fueled frustration. The lack of technical training despite promises of more technical work is particularly frustrating. My manager and I repeatedly raised the need for proper training to handle the incoming technical projects, but our pleas fell on deaf ears. I took it upon myself to enroll in Google Project Management, data analytics, and fundamental AI courses to bridge the gap, all while managing a majorly increased workload. I kept management in the loop about my efforts to improve, only to be blindsided by my sudden layoff upon completing my Google Project Management Certification. What stings the most is the feeling of being replaced, as the company swiftly hired a new Project Manager with the technical experience I had advocated for. Despite my dedication to self-improvement and my clients' success, I was discarded without much consideration. This experience has left me disillusioned and disheartened, highlighting the company's lack of appreciation for its employees' commitment and growth.
