Pros

-Excellent Team Mindset. No one is on their own here and we look after each other as though we're family. -Opportunity for Personal and Professional Growth is incredible. -Leadership knows each employee personally and takes an active interest in our work and our personal lives. -Unmatched priority for work-life balance. -Frequent Team/Staff Activities to maintain culture during Covid. -Excellent Technical Resources Provided -Culture, Culture, Culture - Many companies try to manufacture what is simply organic w/ ShipperHQ. -Honest & respectful feedback on performance. -Frequent expressions of gratitude for each member of the company. ShipperHQ is literally the best company I've worked for....and in the Austin area, this is a long list for me.

Cons

There's a bit of a learning curve with the product and industries served. It seems common to come to ShipperHQ after mastering other roles and industries and working with ShipperHQ will challenge the mind in ways that are refreshing. Managers understand the complexities of what we do and make every effort for us to understand and excel with the company but this also requires some humility from personnel in knowing that, while we may know a lot and are very talented, we will learn so much more once we're ramped up. Trusting the processes and the sincerity of managers' feedback is the key to success. This is really only a "Con" for those who don't see themselves as coachable or willing to be guided to success in their role w/ ShipperHQ.

Pros

Plenty of opportunity to learn. You are expected to know your role but there’s an understanding that everyone has opportunity to learn, whether that’s within the role you are in or in other areas of the business. The majority of the staff are willing to go beyond their duties to help and there are very few that are here to just do the 9-5 and be siloed.

Cons

The only downside really is that we can’t have the entire team in one location more frequently. It’s understandable when you have staff in several countries but it’s always a positive when you get the team in one place.

Pros

Honestly the people here are awesome and way too good for the nonsense they deal with. Everyone is just doing their best to survive. Half day Fridays are nice when they don’t get yanked away as punishment.

Cons

This place would actually be solid if not for the CEO Jo. Or as I call her: Jo-nado. Shes unpredictable. Loud. Volatile. You never know when something is going to set her off but when it does, watch out! She’ll go from 0 to 100 before you’ve had your first cup of coffee with emotional outbursts and complete chaos. My survival plan:. Avoid eye contact. Dont make sudden movements. Stay still, maybe she won’t notice you. Think Jurassic Park except this T-Rex has rage issues and the memory of a goldfish. When she finally spots you, game over! She’ll start firing off random questions that make zero sense and before you know it, you’re her new target. Everything you’re doing is now wrong even when you’re literally doing exactly what she told you to do. At this point, I just nod, pretend to take notes and wait for the storm to hit another department. I swear Jo is allergic to consistency or something. You cant win with her because she is not wired like a normal human. Its like the logical part of her brain got fried and it now runs on chaos and misplaced confidence. Thats why I turned her into Jo-nado in my head. Shes just a destructive force coming through that you have to try to avoid and not let her bring you down. Otherwise you’ll lose your sanity faster than your half day Fridays.
