Pros
+ The company values its employees + Profit sharing programme (free shares for everyone)
Cons
- not every part of Siemens is progressive, do not expect to work with cutting-edge technology unless you are lucky enough - some departments seem to lack expertise but yet they micromanage those who have it, which leads to dissatisfaction and occasionally to project failures - lack of horizontal communication and mobility; one is not expected to be interested in anything else than the job assigned to -in my division (Mobility), everything takes too long, from ordering office equipment, hardware related to the project, to fulfilling any expectation I had when joining - the only thing that does not take long is a plan change. Plans (e.g. regarding the project one works on) can change several times a month, week or even a day, which causes chaos and again, dissatisfaction - language skills: the overall proficiency in English seems to be below average and some even ignore if there is a person that does not speak German in the meeting
