Pros

it used to be the people I worked with until Sikich bought our firm and most the good people left. you get 30 free therapy sessions because when you work here your gonna need it. A little bit better working hours compared to other CPA firms, however you will still be expected to work 60 hour weeks during certain points in the year.

Cons

When I first started working here I loved everyone. Then Sikich bought our firm a bunch of people left and we didnt replace them just expected to work more. We stopped having team happy hours. The firm always talks about award winning culture but the manager I have currently our entire team hates and we all cannot wait to quit. Our manager would curse all the time and be so rude to everyone on the team. I literally think they are insane. They would brag about working till 4AM all the time and send emails from 1-4AM. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars is because I have worked with some of the nicest people I ever met that would send emails to my partner saying how great I did and would truly care about you. Benefits are below average. Certain clients can be a nightmare and will leave you screaming at the top of your lungs. Other clients make the day feel like you only worked 1 hour.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. We are certainly very glad that you feel that many of the people you work with are terrific. We are very lucky to have incredible people at the firm. It seems like some of the concerns you mention are related to your former firm being acquired. The integration process can understandably create questions and procedural changes that may create a degree of uncertainty. That said, we work very hard to gather feedback from those who are new to the firm and work to consider and implement positive changes, where appropriate. We would recommend reaching out to your HR Business Partner to discuss your concerns, as one of their primary responsibilities is to help employees navigate these kinds of issues. The feedback we receive from employees is the first step in allowing us to foster a workplace culture that leaves all employees feeling positive and fulfilled. Again, thank you for the comments.

Pros

- remote work culture that began before covid and has continued - manageable billable hour goals and doesn’t penalize employees for time on the bench between projects - did not do layoffs during government shutdown like some other firms did

Cons

- no formal training plan for new hires or current employees - no automatic COLA adjustments (raises are on merit only) - not a ton of diversity but is improving - multiple recent reorganizations as firm grows (impacts management, little to no impact for staff)

Thank you for sharing your experience, and for the positive observations about our company! We agree it's a great place to work. We encourage you to reach out to your manager to learn more about the training and development opportunities available to all employees, including new hires, through Sikich University. Those courses, along with more information, are also accessible via our intranet site under the LCVista app. Thanks, again!

Pros

Decent place to get Federal audit experience. Good health insurance benefits

Cons

Salary and raises (2% raise for meeting expectations, 3% raises for exceeding expectations). Absolutely awful and doesn't even keep pace with inflation, meaning even after the raises you're financially worse off than the year prior. Principals/Management seems to be disjointed with feedback full of corporate jargon rather than substantive examples and helpful guidance. Pressures to become a Top 10/15 ($1B+ revenue) company seems to have neglected organic growth. Private Equity investment has began to transform pressures from the top down. CEO using the word "family" in regards to the company, when the treatment is anything but how you would treat family.

First, thank you for your comment, and we're happy to see you enjoyed many of the benefits Sikich has to offer. Second, we take all concerns seriously and truly want to understand and address issues when they arise. We take pride in building and nurturing a great place to work, and do appreciate that employee experiences may differ depending on the manager and team. We encourage any current or former employee to share their experiences directly with our dedicated HR Business Partners. This allows us to fully look into and address feedback and insights in a timely and appropriate manner. We are committed to fostering a supportive workplace and, again, we appreciate your feedback.
