Pros
Generally healthy corporate culture that values ethical, inclusive and fair policy. Above average compensation and benefits. Direct management is supportive overall and senior leadership has a good grasp of future state planning. No ridiculous penny-pinching like some shops, decent IT budget for reasonable equipment lifecycle management. The IT team itself is a smart, friendly team, and generally all work well together. There's no office interpersonal drama, which is nice. Training and certification assistance is available, and learning / testing can be done on the clock.
Cons
Most of the department is overworked, and some people don't do well under that kind of stress. This is very common in IT, of course, but it would be nice if we had a few more people so we don't face eventual burnout. Onsite versus remote: I understand why they are doing it for certain departments, but it seems like a dumb choice to require physical presence when metrics prove that many of us in IT get more done working remotely. Opportunity for internal promotion and transfers to other areas within the IT department (to advance one's career) could be better.
