Pros

Most of the people working there were nice. Lots of free snacks.

Cons

Even though it's a salary position, they make you badge in and out so they can time you. If you're short in a week (no matter how much you worked previous weeks), they take it out of your FTO. The free snacks in the kitchen are the biggest benefit of working at Silvaco. Senior officers are unprofessional (like talking about the salary requirements of people they're interviewing). When the Covid lockdowns started, they were very slow to let people work from home. Even before the virus, the company has a rabidly anti-work from home stance.

Pros

Excellent place to learn how software survives without active development. Engineers gain rapid experience in being resource-optimized. Meetings are plentiful; outcomes optional. Ideal if you enjoy watching institutional knowledge evaporate in real time.

Cons

This was never a strong engineering company - just one that burned through people while coasting on aging products. Engineers are treated as disposable, real contributors are pushed out, and institutional knowledge is routinely discarded. What’s left is process, confusion, and churn instead of technical direction. Customers looking for stability, innovation, or long-term support should be cautious and look elsewhere.
