Excellent pricing training and client exposure, weaker on people planning - Senior Consultant Simon-Kucher Employee Review

Pros

Serious technical depth in pricing and commercial strategy. The internal know-how is real, not repackaged generic consulting, and you come out with a skill set that transfers well. Client exposure comes early: I was running workstreams directly with commercial and marketing leadership at large FMCG companies rather than sitting two layers behind a manager. The Barcelona office is genuinely international, people are smart and willing to help, and you can walk up to a partner and ask a question without it being a whole procedure.

Cons

Utilisation and staffing quietly drive a lot of what happens to you, and that becomes very visible when the pipeline softens. Hours are heavy and hard to predict, particularly before client workshops. Your experience depends enormously on which partners you end up working with, and progression criteria are not always spelled out clearly. Pay is reasonable but not top of market for the workload.
