There are absolutely no partnership prospects in the London M&A team. The strategy is to hire laterals with an existing book of business or whose practice will otherwise complement the Firm’s existing client base. Unfortunately there was a perception among Associates that the Firm is not entirely genuine when it comes to partnership prospects in the London M&A team which leads to good Associates labouring extremely hard under entirely false pretences. Some straightforward honesty about this would be welcome by many.
