Pros

Simpson University has a great sense of community, caring and understanding people. Everyone is very supportive. While working for Simpson you have the ability to take on a lot of responsibility and control your environment. Overall it's a great place to gain experience because there is so much that needs to be done. Simpson is also involved in the community and has a reputation for doing a lot for the community so you have the opportunity to really connect. Also, the benefits are fantastic, health care, insurance, lunches, retirement and discounts for your extending your education while you are there.

Cons

Simpson University promotes a lot of people up into leadership positions. Which doesn't really seem like a great way of bringing in talent. It seems that the people really gifted at their job get the experience and reputations and then leave for higher paying jobs else where. Salaries are low at Simpson, depending on the position you have you can expect 15%-40% reduction in your salary. The leadership at times can be weak and indecisive while at other times making rash decisions without really thinking things through. Often time decisions were reactive versus proactive decisions that should have been anticipated.

Pros

Beautiful campus in Northern CA with amazing, loving, talented faculty, staff and students.

Cons

Simpson continues to improve in spite of multiple setbacks (eg.Covid, state finance and cost). they are getting better every year with 13% growth as they continue to recruit people who are bought into the faith mission.

Pros

Very approachable, considerate staff & faculty

Cons

Underpaid. Worked just short of full time, which meant low pay and no benefits, as is the case with many adjuncts in the US sadly.
