Pros
decent pay but you will get enough hours and able to pick up a lot of extra hours if you wanted
Cons
When I worked for Waltonwood in Rochester hill, mi in the beginnin but the moment I switched to midnights it was horrible. They tried to write me up because my grandfather died and I decided to take the 3 days off for grieving. In the handbook it said I could so I called corporate and the man I spoke with said I was right and that we will call my supervisor and inform her of that. Then there was a caregiver putting her hands on a resident and the family was complaining and even band her for caring for their mother. All the management complained and basically said "their mother doesn't have a say so. They was not about to ban a caregiver from the room just for her" I'll admit the resident pulled the call cord a million times a day but hey that's what she was paying for.! It doesn't matter how many times she pulled it she was paying us to care for her. Management could have just pul the caregiver on another floor or laid her off but they didn't even look into what they family was saying what was done to their mother because the caregiver been with the company for so long so the resident ended up being moved to another facility. Then not to mention they "Lost" a resident and didn't even know it.!!! Their was a resident that was from Egypt and didn't speak English. You can tell from his vide that he didn't like the facility. One day all of the med-tech and caregivers was sitting in the lobby which is located by the outside doors. A man comes in and say "I think one of your residents is walking up the road" some laugh and looked at the man as if he was crazy. So the man replied "No I'm serious, one of your residents is walking up the road with no coat" sure enough the man was correct.
