Pros
For the majority of my tenure, it was excellent. Pre-merger XM offered a great culture, great people who challenged me and solid management. Great location and office on King West. Generally pretty organized and everyone was on the same page in terms of direction and worked together very well. Employees and executives worked well together and creativity and idea exchange was encouraged. Departments worked reasonably well together toward end goals. Then the merger happened......
Cons
......and it all went to hell. The Sirius management team took over for the most part. The culture was terrible; office location was terrible, senior management was disassociated and completely unapproachable, unrealistic and detached from the day to day management/workers. The organization was very siloed. The lack of focus on customer support was alarming - very poor customer service management and leadership. Professional growth opportunities were minimal and they stifled growth from within the organization. Creativity was stifled. The CEO just sat there, banged his fist and collected his large pay cheque while instilling a culture of fear and counterproductive inter-departmental competitiveness. It became a grotesque place to work.
