Slow but dependable growth - Director SiriusXM Employee Review

Pros

Growth is consistent with good performance. You'll make more money and see better titles over time so long as you're a "good corporate citizen". Some genuinely brilliant people to work with and learn from. Company is extremely averse to employee churn, it's basically impossible to get fired. Good benefits. Half days on Fridays...that is, if you're not drowning in work.

Cons

Pays below market. Entry level positions generally need to wait 2+ years for any material raise/promotion. Politics are a nightmare, egos the size of Jupiter. Company espouses values of work/life balance and caring for employees but seldom delivers outside of somewhat regular, pandering emails about "caring" and "hearing you" (be prepared to work nights, weekends, and occasionally during PTO on a somewhat regular basis). Becoming more "woke", at least outwardly...lots of pandering to the new class of junior employees, safe spaces, time wasting diversity training (all par for the course now, I guess). Be prepared to keep your lips sewn shut if you have an opinion that's the slightest bit controversial. Products and company culture consistently feel 5yrs behind the times. Oceans of red tape.

Pros

Great work place with fun people

Cons

One of the biggest challenges is that most people start as part-time employees. Given the current state of the radio industry, there isn't much room for raises or upward mobility. In many cases, the only way to advance is to wait for someone else to leave so that a full-time position becomes available.
