Pros

International company, great experiences with the branches in the EU. Enjoyed my experience with my last branch so much better with having a healthy age/gender diversity and way more of an organized and willing manager/team. Opportunity, so it seems at least in the beginning. A business trip to FL if you're not a local.

Cons

Unfortunately I was served the McDonald's version of joining this company since my branch was very unwelcoming which later was confirmed to me by someone else having had worked there. Unprofessional behavior, chaotic, unorganized, highschool environment including cursing is what I had to listen to. Badmouthing was a routine. No age diversity, low salary and generally a branch with insecure employees too busy whining and gossiping all day instead of working towards becoming a team.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review for Sixt rent a car. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the branch environment you were reassigned to. However, we do apologize that your initial branch was not as positive of an experience. Our executive team has regular regional and branch manager meetings as well as ongoing training to promote positivity, consistency, and professionalism across all branches. Likewise, all new hires have a mandatory orientation and several also have a mandatory one week training at our headquarters. This allows employees to become familiar with our HR and training teams and learn about our standards and procedures. With that said, all branch employees should have a thorough understanding of how to conduct themselves in a professional manner and if any discrepancies should arise, every new hire is encouraged to contact a member of the HR team. Due to your unsatisfying experience at your first branch, we would encourage you to reach out to our VP of HR, Gaddy Fernandez. Unwelcoming behavior is not promoted and of course we would investigate to rectify this. In regards to your concerns about managerial training, all managers experience a wide range of markets for several months to a year (depending on experience level) to provide them with the knowledge to overcome obstacles and successfully manage a team. Additionally our managers either have a Bachelor’s Degree or prior managerial and leadership experience and training. We hone in on personality traits and behavior to select our managers and only a select few make it through out rigorous interview process. Our recruiting team ensures that we are selecting managers that match our superior standards of professionalism and quality service and also selecting those that can manage a team that will embody these traits. Mangers in training must constantly show a passion for the business, show enthusiasm that matches our standards, and of course, pass their assessment to successfully manage their own branch. Also we do have a competitive compensation package. Comparing us to other companies, our employees are compensated very well. Finally, as you yourself recognized, Sixt prides itself on being a very diverse organization when it comes to age and gender. In addition, Sixt’s Branch Managers not only come from the United States but all over the world.

Pros

Excellent work environment, helpful managers

Cons

It only takes one or two customer reviews to affect you negatively. Disproportionate to the number of customers you handle.

Dear former employee, thank you for sharing your experience with us in Phoenix. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the work environment and found our managers helpful during your time with Team Orange. We also hear your feedback on the impact of customer reviews on individual performance metrics. We understand this can feel disproportionate at times, and it's valuable input as we continuously review how we measure and support our teams. We wish you all the best in your next role. Best regards

Pros

• Strong learning experience in business operations, especially P&L, pricing, and revenue growth • Opportunity to work with talented and driven colleagues • Clear performance structure with defined KPIs and bonus incentives • Fast-paced environment that builds resilience and management skills • Good exposure to leadership communication and corporate expectations

Cons

• High-pressure, top-down culture with constant focus on results • Middle management roles can feel unsupported despite high expectations • Disciplinary actions sometimes felt excessive for minor issues • Workplace culture included gossip and lack of professionalism at times • Limited coaching and development—more focus on outcomes than guidance • Bonus structure can be difficult to fully achieve due to split KPIs • Customer service metrics felt unrealistic to consistently control • Perception of over-policing performance (both under- and over-performance scrutinized) • Advancement expectations are aggressive; may not be ideal for those not seeking rapid promotion • Frontline employees appear prioritized over management support

Dear former employee, thank you for taking the time to share such a balanced and thoughtful review after your time with us in Los Angeles. We're glad to hear that you valued the learning opportunities, the talented colleagues, and the clear performance structure. At the same time, we take your concerns seriously – particularly around management support, coaching, and the fairness of our bonus and disciplinary structures. A high-performance environment should come with the right guidance and your feedback is valuable as we continue to develop a culture at Team Orange where both results and people matter. If you'd like to share more in confidence, feel free to reach out at talents@sixt.com. We wish you all the best in your next chapter. Best regards
