Investment in education career development; good community of people who care about the project and company; supervisors responsive to expressed needs; provides welcomed challenges that push me just beyond the limits of comfort - personal progress; fair(reasonable) salary/bonuses; high coverage medical/dental/vision; fair (reasonable) retirement options; incentives for long term employees; prospects for significant career advancement with hard work; options for moving between business divisions and working abroad. Work hard, but feel appreciated. Overall, I love working for Skanska.
Cons
Company culture in Civil West can feel a little conventional compared to other industries, other construction companies and even other Skanska divisions. Headquarters IS encouraging change toward more progressivism. However, construction culture runs deep. Change is slow, but it is happening. Projects are large and risky. Environment can feel fearful in times when stress levels are high. This can be motivating for me, but may not be for others.
