Company Is A Joke... But Nobody Is Laughing - General Manager Smarte Carte Employee Review

Pros

If you want to work 15 hours a week and have a second job, this could be a good company for you (it worked for me for two full years). Nice little additional $55-$75k a year to work 15 hours a week. There will be times as a GM where you do not hear from your manager for months at a time.

Cons

All of the infrastructure is outdated. Your machines will be broken consistently. Retaining good employees is impossible when you can only pay them $1/$2 above minimum wage and you expect them to have clean backgrounds and do hard, physical labor for 8 hours straight. P&L management is a joke. The financial guys for the company just take your old revenue and EBITDA numbers and bump them both up 2-4% each year and don't do any additional analyzation. Corporate office and tech support will not help you, so if you cannot troubleshoot and fix machines by yourself, you will not succeed. Parts orders are always wrong. You order parts, you get the wrong parts, you send them back, you get the wrong parts again.... four months later you've still got a broken cart machine and the airport will call you every four hours on your personal cell phone to tell you your machine is still broken.
