Cons
Incompetent middle management and non technical managers pushing for team to take on anything and everything due to poor planning. No long term vision and delivering everything except what’s high priority for customers. Their standard pattern seems to be hire you for a specific role and then slowly ask you to do everything. Why would a seasoned senior backend engineer be hired to ultimately spend time mostly with Devops, Selenium and automation, when there’s a lot of interesting stuff to work on in their area of expertise? It’s a perfect company for folks who wish to be mediocre Jack of all trades but master of none and the standard response is going to be getting everyone a well rounded engineer. There’s a general trend of all the competent senior folks leaving one by one and this Amazon culture of having shorter average tenure due to no sound path to career growth and negative WLB creeping in.
