Pros

You learn a lot in a short amount of time and work with amazingly talented and fun people. If you start out at a lower level of pay, you do qualify for overtime, which is nice because you will work more than 40 hours a week. Working with associations will expose you to many different industries and personalities, which is a great way to grow professionally.

Cons

The classic overworked and underpaid saying is true at SmithBucklin. Turnover is extremely high at this company for that very reason, which creates problems and added stress for existing employees that then have to take on more work in the interim and constantly help train new employees that don't last. The benefit packages here are mediocre at best when you compare them with other employers, even much smaller ones.

Thank you for your review. Smithbucklin is deeply committed to the health, well-being, and professional growth of our employees. Our comprehensive and competitive benefits are designed to address both current and changing needs of our employees. We do extensive evaluation of our benefits packages each year, and following employee feedback last year, we are looking at new ways we can deliver perks. Following the success of our Wellness Week experiment last year, we announced this week that Wellness Week will go permanent to allow emlployees to shut down fully to plan time with family or travel. We continue to invest in an operations transformation to address inefficiencies identified through the experiences of our employees. We also conduct market assessments of positions and salaries and adjust an employee’s salary if needed to remain competitive.
