Pros
Great benefits! Health, vision, dental, 401(k), really can't complain about the benefits.
Solid org structure with leadership skills drilled to management ensuring a decent and professional employee-manager relationship.
Strong unions.
Educational Reimbursement goes for more than just colleges (think industry educations).
Cons
Pay is a little bit below average, BUT it is made up for with job stability (recession resistant) and strong benefits.
Union employees get solid training, but management employees tend to get tossed of the pier and have to figure it out on their own. SO if you go into management be sure to always be learning. Ask questions of your supervisor, manager, and cohorts, AND always be taking courses/classes when available.
