Pros

SoCalGas is a great place to work. The benefits are great, the pay is competitive and lots of great people to work with. Our company is committed to diversity and inclusion and are committed to a safe and inclusive work environment. Many employees decide to stay with SoCalGas for many years. We work a hybrid schedule, office and work from home. It's great! My managers are good caring people who are flexible and great to work with.

Cons

As with many companies, no company is perfect. In our company, sometimes there are gaps in communications between departments. Oftentimes, it is due people not being aware of what is involved in order to produce a final product or service. It's all about communications. A bit more effort from some would take care of this. Believe me, it is nothing that would make me want to leave this company!

Pros

Great benefits! Health, vision, dental, 401(k), really can't complain about the benefits. Solid org structure with leadership skills drilled to management ensuring a decent and professional employee-manager relationship. Strong unions. Educational Reimbursement goes for more than just colleges (think industry educations).

Cons

Pay is a little bit below average, BUT it is made up for with job stability (recession resistant) and strong benefits. Union employees get solid training, but management employees tend to get tossed of the pier and have to figure it out on their own. SO if you go into management be sure to always be learning. Ask questions of your supervisor, manager, and cohorts, AND always be taking courses/classes when available.

Pros

Very DEI focused, so would be good if you are a minority or female candidate interested in STEM fields.

Cons

Currently going through layoffs due to shortfalls in budgeting allowed by the state. California has planned for decarbonization of the state, mid to long range outlook not promising. Currently requires 4 days in the office.
