Pros

training is very systematic, make sure you know all the basic before sending you to work; a lot of opportunities to move around but only base on seniority; management seems supportive but still bureaucratical

Cons

as part-timer you can only work certain hours in a year, means the management will give you less hour if they "think" you will go over... you are only allow to work 25 hours/week in low season, that you cannot pick up more even someone want to give up... not easy to become full-time unless you want to change role, and again that is base on your seniority

Pros

Great benefits! Health, vision, dental, 401(k), really can't complain about the benefits. Solid org structure with leadership skills drilled to management ensuring a decent and professional employee-manager relationship. Strong unions. Educational Reimbursement goes for more than just colleges (think industry educations).

Cons

Pay is a little bit below average, BUT it is made up for with job stability (recession resistant) and strong benefits. Union employees get solid training, but management employees tend to get tossed of the pier and have to figure it out on their own. SO if you go into management be sure to always be learning. Ask questions of your supervisor, manager, and cohorts, AND always be taking courses/classes when available.

Pros

Very DEI focused, so would be good if you are a minority or female candidate interested in STEM fields.

Cons

Currently going through layoffs due to shortfalls in budgeting allowed by the state. California has planned for decarbonization of the state, mid to long range outlook not promising. Currently requires 4 days in the office.
