Pros

A lot of interesting problems to solve. Management actively listened to engineering and let us lead the industry on technology. It was great working closely with visionary leadership Mike Cagney (CEO), June Ou (CTO), and Matt Conroy (VP of Technology). Following the unfortunate leadership upset in 2017, I also learned a lot from the growth-centered leadership of Anthony Noto (CTO) and Tony Donohoe (CTO).

Cons

The biggest downside while I was there was the siloed and sometimes adversarial disconnect between the Marketing/Product group and Engineering.

While you're no longer an employee, you'll always be a part of the SoFi family, and we greatly appreciate your thoughtful review. We're so happy to hear your experience was positive overall. Being at the forefront of helping to transform an industry that hasn't changed in decades creates a really dynamic work environment, and tons of problems to run after. This creates a myriad of opportunities for our employees to make a huge impact on the company's future. Our most recent employee survey identified cross-functional communication as one of our greatest areas of opportunity, and we are committed to improving this across teams, such as adding team spotlights in All-Hands meetings and proactive email updates. Thanks again for your feedback, and we wish you the best of luck! Happy Holidays and take care.
