Good, stable job; may get boring - Claims Service Representative Social Security Administration Employee Review

Pros

If you can get your foot into the door and have a full-time position, you will be set for life. It is incredibly difficult to lose your job, work is constant (except during government shutdowns), overtime opportunities are available, no need to take work home, and relocating is possible but only if due to certain circumstances.

Cons

The work can be tiresome and boring, you are processing claims for people and should not expect anything too exciting. You will find certain supervisors and coworkers who do subpar work which leads to extra work for you and the rest of the office. Dealing with the public can be aggravating at times and this can eventually drain you, especially if it's how your day starts.
