Not worth it - Generalist Social Security Administration Employee Review

Pros

PTO, Credit, Federal holidays off, job security

Cons

Disconnect between upper management and front line employees. Current leaders are more interested in diversity and inclusion instead of assisting the public efficiently and effectively. Management has the inability to fire employees immediately who are a hinderance to the office. "Having a body is better than nobody" is the mentality. Inability to hire when people are actually needed due to budgeting and even if you get a new hire, it will take most people at least a year before they are somewhat helpful with the office. Quantity over quality is common. Employees who are horrible at their job and do things that cause distrust with the public are protected by the union. If you want nothing but frustration, it may be a fit for you.
