This is truly the most dysfunctional and disorganized company that I have ever worked for in my entire career. Managers frequently leave OKR planning up to their direct reports even when the reports have only been at the company for a few weeks. These OKRs often aren't finalized until several weeks into the corresponding quarter, and even then, they can change abruptly to satisfy the whimsy of upper management. Company-wide goals change constantly with little to no warning.
It feels like projects and large scale initiatives never get completed at Sonder. There are endless docs being generated and countless meetings being scheduled, but people still fail to actually execute once this is all said and done. If you ask your coworkers to set realistic deadlines and project plans for completion, they tell you that you're being pushy and the final work never materializes.
A few reviews prior to this mentioned that Sonder has a supportive HR Team. What team? There wasn't a Head of People Ops when I started, and there wasn't when I left. There is no HR for you to go to if you're experiencing difficulty in the workplace. None.
Finally, if you want to understand how bad things are internally, just look at the tenure of most employees. Even barring the recent COVID layoffs, dozens of employees are still leaving voluntarily before they hit their one year mark. I can think of several employees who only made it to 3 months and then promptly quit because they couldn't take it anymore.
