Pros

Headquarters is located in a beautiful small town with some of the most friendly people I've ever met. Wonderful place to live and work! The recruiting process is straight forward and the recruitment team is extremely responsive. The flexibility here is unmatched and Sonoco cares about it's employees and their families in parallel with it's stakeholders.

Cons

It's a very complex business- if you're in a support function, plan for a lengthy time to understand all of the different operations, products, locations, and hierarchies. Not necessarily a con, but just something to be aware of. It's a very large, global, organization, operating in a matrixed environment.

Thank you for taking time to leave your review! We appreciate it when our hometown of Hartsville, SC is well received, as it truly is a hidden gem. Our family/team dynamic stems from our southern traditional roots, and we take pride in our tight-knit feel. Our global scale and size of our portfolio can seem daunting at times, but we strive for cross-functional teamwork and strong communication up/down the hierarchies. We'd love to hear more from you, feel free to email us at connect@sonoco.com - thank you again for taking time to leave your feedback!

Pros

The salary was good, and the people in the department I worked in were friendly

Cons

Politics at the company were tricky to navigate. Success was more about who liked you rather than merit. Bad behavior would go unaddressed if the person was liked
