Pros
Sonoco is known globally for their outstanding products. Sonoco is ALWAYS looking to do better. Continuous Improvement is the key. The employees are able to share their ideas to the supervisor and management. Excellent benefits and incentives. I have never worked for a company who actually involved the employees in the company’s gains and losses for each quarter. This is an example if continuous improvement . Showing the employees where the improvements need to be made. Then opening the door for new ideas which could possibly be a new company process. Excellent benefits. Work life balance is outstanding.
Cons
There isn’t a big turn over with employees at Sonoco. I work at the Henderson, Ky location. Everyone I have spoken to has been with Sonoco for 17-22 years. Therefore there isn’t much hiring. Employees aren’t use to training a new person. I would like to see and be apart of a training module for new hires. This would definitely help relieve anxiety in the new hire. The new hire could be more relaxed learning the processes and making less mistakes. Decreasing the scrap pounds.
