Pros
None. I still have anxiety and panic dreams about this toxic place. If you manage to stay on long enough, you can say you were lucky enough to work there and get "genuine" publishing experience on your resume.
Cons
If you can think of one, it applies to Sourcebooks. Management will never offer support and throw you under the bus first chance they get to save their own skins. Very clique-ish and high school. If you're in with the cool kids, awesome. If not, you're a loner and will be ostracized. Training was non-existent. They threw you in head first and expect perfection and tolerate nothing. Learning curve is steep. Pay was laughable. Benefits even more so. HR turnover was high. Red flags everywhere. Dom wants to play with the big boys of the NY publishers and acts like it. She's admirable, but incredibly flakey. Tone and message can flip on a dime. The lack of diversity was staggering.
