Management! I got hired on and couldn’t wait to start my new career at seaaca. But once the reality of this place sunk in I couldn’t help but notice what was going on. Don’t get me wrong the low level employees worked their butts off. The Animal care technicians are severely under paid and literally do SO much at Seaaca it’s insane. They really are the ones keeping this place together and I truly believed they cared about every animal they were around. The animal control officers all looked exhausted. With on call shifts and field work they were understaffed due to constant turn over. The ladies in the front office were completely disconnected with what happened behind the front desk lobby. They never see any animals and they never know how hard anyone works. They sit in their bubbles and deal with customers all days with a phone that only has limited hold lines. Again to many calls and not enough people. They became bitter and at any opportunity for them to let their frustrations out they do it to the lower staff. Aka animal care technicians. The vet department really have a effective way of handling the amount of animals that need vaccines and surgery’s. The vets work there butts off and really care for all the animals at this location. Now the management is just the worst. There lazy and literally the less they can do the better. As I was told. Stay quiet, blend in with the wall and don’t question anything because guess what we don’t feel the need to answer them. The licensing department did their own thing and seemed like there own thing since they had a small window and were out on the field the entire time. The management uses fear to get their employees to work harder and faster. And forget about being short staffed they won’t come out to assist because that mean they have to do something. From something that could have been a great place to learn and contribute really turned into a place to fall in line.
