Pros

remote work, that’s it nothing else

Cons

You will do more work for no more money. This is their standard operating procedure. When someone quits or gets fired, that's just considered savings. They almost never backfill the role, so you just get to add that workload to your own. It's exhausting and feels incredibly disrespectful. · Leadership is completely checked out. Honestly, who's running this place? There's zero direction, zero vision. It feels like everyone is just waiting around for the company to be acquired. I have no idea what the strategy is, and I don't think they do either. There's no clarity, no momentum, and definitely no trust left. · Your career will stall here. Promotions junt title changes to avoid giving real raises. There's no training, no real opportunity to learn. You're on your own. The "onboarding" is basically just getting login info and then being thrown into the deep end because everyone is too burned out to train you.

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback after more than five years with Sovos. I am glad remote work flexibility was valuable during your time here. I want to address a few points directly. Our strategic direction is clear and we communicate it regularly through our All Connects meetings and other forums: our vision is to transform tax and compliance into a force for growth and a core strategy to do is our evolution from point solutions to platform. We are executing against that vision, taking market share and growing in the areas that matter. We do backfill roles. In the vast majority of cases, positions are replaced when employees move on. While we may occasionally pause to reassess structure or scope, adding permanent workload without a plan to replace talent is not how we operate. When teams feel stretched, that is something I take seriously. Regarding onboarding, we provide a full-day orientation session along with pre-hire communication and follow-ups alongside functional trainings, though I recognize that the experience can vary depending on team and manager, and that is something we continue to work on. I am sorry you felt your career stalled during your time here. The reality is that Sovos is not for everyone. We find that people who are adaptable, results-driven, and collaborative in fast-paced environments succeed best here. We are making significant investments across the business, including in our Sales, Product, and Service Delivery teams, as well as AI tools to help our people feel more productive and empowered in their roles. Thank you for the contributions you made during your tenure, and I genuinely wish you well in what is next. - Colleen Schlagel, Chief Talent Officer

Thank you for sharing this, and welcome to the team! It's wonderful to hear that your recruiting experience set such a positive tone from the start. Cassie is a great example of the kind of Sovosians we are proud to have representing our culture, and knowing she made you feel informed and at ease throughout the process genuinely matters to us. We also love hearing that your first day onboarding helped you connect with our values and get a feel for what we do. That experience is something we work hard to get right, and your feedback confirms it's landing the way we intend. We're glad you're here, and we look forward to growing together. Pros

Being Remote and standard benefits

Cons

Sales leadership is horrendous. New people are brought in not trained, aggressive targets (that have never been hit) usually designed to be the escape goats to protect the old guard. Long tenured sales protects the existing power structures. When results slip, they blame newer reps. New hires don’t hit, quotas unrealistic, weak implementation. Nightmare of a company, the worst I have ever worked at.

Thank you for taking the time to share this. Feedback matters, even when we see things differently. Quota-setting and new hire ramp structures are areas we invest in seriously - they're because we want our sellers to win, not to set anyone up to fail. That's the culture we've built, and it's one I'm proud of. That said, I do hear that your experience hasn't matched that intent. If there are specific gaps in how you were onboarded or supported, I'd genuinely like to understand them so we can keep getting better. Please connect with HR or reach out to me directly. We're committed to building a team where every rep has a real shot at success! Alice Katwan, President of Revenue, Sovos
