Pros

Nothing positive to say since the arrival of the new CEO

Cons

Long hours and demanding job with no recogntion of additional responsibilities and then the new CEO is making irrational decisions and unable to communciate the strategy. The culture is terrible since his arrival and everyone is dreading that call from HR.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I take your feedback seriously, as does our whole leadership team. When I joined Sovos, I spent the first few months traveling extensively to our locations to listen and learn from hundreds of employees, and to our clients and partners locations to listen and learn. What the market / clients wanted from Sovos and what over 2,500 Sovos employees wanted us to be as a company crystalized very quickly, and we have relentlessly been driving – and relentlessly communicating our strategy ever since. Over 100,000 Sovos customers, thousands of Sovos employees, and hundreds of Sovos partners very clearly understand, and more importantly not only support, but WANT us to execute on this strategy as fast as possible. We get high marks on the level of communication, transparency, and candor from employees, partners, and clients. This commitment to transparency and candor is an absolute hallmark of the company. This vision to move Sovos from a collection of regional point solution providers to the one global platform for all things tax/reg/compliance – the Sovos Compliance Cloud- has been resoundingly successful so far. And to achieve it, we are investing more than ever before in our employees, customers and technology. Materially more. Sovos has never invested as much in the company’s history. Also to achieve it, it’s taken and will continue to take innovation, transformation, and change. Change is indeed challenging, and change of this magnitude isn’t for everyone, I and we completely understand and respect that. We are always disappointed when a Sovos team member decides it’s no longer a fit, but we always support them and always wish them well. On culture, as thousands of Sovos employees will agree, it’s quite contrary to your observation. We have a culture that was already strong, and is evolving positively to be even stronger…we've received overwhelmingly encouraging feedback from both employees and customers about our direction, and our employee retention rates are at an all-time high. We deeply value our team members. While we can (and will) always do more, we have implemented various recognition programs, flexible time-off policies, incentive programs and bonuses to acknowledge the contributions and ensure well-being of our team members. And it’s WORKING. We have a more effective company, a better culture, and Sovos employees are doing the best work of their careers. I am personally excited about the positive impacts these changes are already having on our employees, clients and partners, and I remain committed to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace environment at Sovos. Thank you again for your feedback and also for the contributions you made during your tenure with us. We truly appreciate you. Kevin Akeroyd CEO

Thank you for sharing this, and welcome to the team! It's wonderful to hear that your recruiting experience set such a positive tone from the start. Cassie is a great example of the kind of Sovosians we are proud to have representing our culture, and knowing she made you feel informed and at ease throughout the process genuinely matters to us. We also love hearing that your first day onboarding helped you connect with our values and get a feel for what we do. That experience is something we work hard to get right, and your feedback confirms it's landing the way we intend. We're glad you're here, and we look forward to growing together. Pros

Being Remote and standard benefits

Cons

Sales leadership is horrendous. New people are brought in not trained, aggressive targets (that have never been hit) usually designed to be the escape goats to protect the old guard. Long tenured sales protects the existing power structures. When results slip, they blame newer reps. New hires don’t hit, quotas unrealistic, weak implementation. Nightmare of a company, the worst I have ever worked at.

Thank you for taking the time to share this. Feedback matters, even when we see things differently. Quota-setting and new hire ramp structures are areas we invest in seriously - they're because we want our sellers to win, not to set anyone up to fail. That's the culture we've built, and it's one I'm proud of. That said, I do hear that your experience hasn't matched that intent. If there are specific gaps in how you were onboarded or supported, I'd genuinely like to understand them so we can keep getting better. Please connect with HR or reach out to me directly. We're committed to building a team where every rep has a real shot at success! Alice Katwan, President of Revenue, Sovos
