Pros

- Mission-driven work to clear milestones and purpose - Work has the potential to deeply change the course of human existence - High risk, high reward environment as is with much of the rocket business - Constantly learning to keep at the cutting edge of engineering - Great work culture with like-minded individual; some of the smartest people you'll ever meet. - Those who do not perform or are not team players are quickly found and don't last long. - Minimal red tape, everyone responsible for mission success. All roles matter. - Stock options - No BS, extremely-focused and competent CEO. - Privately-held, so no investors to answer to. Mission is paramount, not quarterly earnings. - Amazing benefits.

Cons

- Can sometimes be highly stressful. - Company gets paid by achieving contract milestones, which can lead to long hours near a deadline. - Work-life balance can be an issue, but it is entirely the responsibility of the employee to manage. - Performance review process needs improvement. No clear means for promotion/career growth. Very difficult to achieve title/role changes. -No 401k contribution matching. ISOs or RSUs are marketed as reason for this.

Pros

* **Unmatched Mission & Impact:** You are literally working on rockets and spacecraft. The cool factor is 10/10. * **Brilliant Coworkers:** You will be surrounded by some of the smartest, most driven engineers in the world. * **Insane Career Growth:** SpaceX on your resume is a golden ticket. You will learn more here in 3 months than in 3 years at a normal company. * **Hands-on Experience:** They actually trust interns with real, critical hardware. No boring coffee-fetching tasks.

Cons

**Cons:** * **Zero Work-Life Balance:** 70-80 hours a week is the norm, not the exception. Say goodbye to your social life and sleep. * **Extreme Burnout:** The "hustle culture" is toxic. You are expected to treat the company as your entire life. * **Mediocre Pay:** The hourly pay is average, especially when you factor in the insane hours and the high cost of living in LA/Hawthorne. * **Chaotic Management:** Decisions can change overnight based on whatever Elon Musk tweets or feels like doing that morning.
