Pros

Free coffee, cheap merchandise, morning shift was easy. Free medical which was nice. Company name looks great on resume. You can work all the OT you want.

Cons

Management expects you to work long hours just like them, expects you to bend over backwards when projects are taking longer than expected. 90-10 SpaceX to personal life. No room for growth useless you hassle management to place you in trainings that will benefit you. Military personnel seem to get better treatment as far as opportunities, growth, calling out on a regular with no backlash, etc. (nothing against them, just a very interesting thing to see). Stocks too high to buy, don’t bother using their purchase program. Leadership is inexperienced, most are only in those roles because they’ve been with the company for 3+ years. They overwork their good employees and babysit their worst employees which end up being related or close friends to management. Their no a**hole policy is not a thing, it’s shocking the type of conversations and belittling both technicians and leadership engage in. Employees steal tools which makes it hard to complete any work. The level of stress, pressure and frustration is passed down from higher ups. No type of team work environment, their recruiters love to preach about how they want team players and those who play well with others but ultimately just sucker in the “good ones” to a toxic and hostile work environment. It’s amazing how much success this company has with all the shady workmanship that goes on behind the scenes.

Pros

* **Unmatched Mission & Impact:** You are literally working on rockets and spacecraft. The cool factor is 10/10. * **Brilliant Coworkers:** You will be surrounded by some of the smartest, most driven engineers in the world. * **Insane Career Growth:** SpaceX on your resume is a golden ticket. You will learn more here in 3 months than in 3 years at a normal company. * **Hands-on Experience:** They actually trust interns with real, critical hardware. No boring coffee-fetching tasks.

Cons

**Cons:** * **Zero Work-Life Balance:** 70-80 hours a week is the norm, not the exception. Say goodbye to your social life and sleep. * **Extreme Burnout:** The "hustle culture" is toxic. You are expected to treat the company as your entire life. * **Mediocre Pay:** The hourly pay is average, especially when you factor in the insane hours and the high cost of living in LA/Hawthorne. * **Chaotic Management:** Decisions can change overnight based on whatever Elon Musk tweets or feels like doing that morning.
