Pros

Can make money and get experience while working from home

Cons

I saw Splash Financial offer a DevOps job to a guy and then after he put his notice in at his job, the Friday before he was to start, called him and revoked the job. Splash encouraged us to recommend friends for the job by giving a refer a friend bonus if the employee stayed. I was encouraged to bring someone in who changed his career completely to join, only for Splash to lay him off two months later. When I say management is bad, these are 2 great examples of what I mean. Incompetent management screwing with people’s lives.

Pros

I've had a great experience working at Splash. The company is majority remote and trusts employees to manage their work without excessive oversight. Leadership is approachable, transparent, and genuinely invested in the success of both the business and its employees. The mission is meaningful, the people are collaborative, and there are plenty of opportunities to contribute beyond your immediate role. The flexibility and work-life balance are among the best I've experienced.

Cons

Like any growing company, priorities can change quickly and teams need to be comfortable adapting. Processes are continually evolving, which can sometimes create ambiguity or require employees to help build structure as the company scales. If you're looking for a highly structured environment where every process is already established, this may not be the right fit.
