Pros

- Pre-2010 team in SF HQ: Supportive, very smart, genuine, driven, customer-focused, WYSIWYG. - HQ is great. - Passionate and loyal customers.

Cons

Applies to U.S. teams only: 1. CURRENT Federal and other geographic teams are not the same DNA as SF HQ. Serious issues with leadership and culture. 2. If the hiring manager is not actively recruiting you, don't bother applying. The position is filled. 3. Apart from New Hire Sales Training, new hires will find it extremely hard to fit in and obtain sincere support from peers. Trust your gut. Watch your back. 4. Your successes are your own. Your "areas of improvement" are often snap judgement calls from peers that don't even know you. These perceived weaknesses will be broadcast wide to anyone that will listen, and will be held against you for the rest of your career at Splunk. 5. You will not learn from your direct manager. 6. HR will hurt you. 7. Internal promotion process is a travesty. See #3, #4.

Pros

Great company with a postivie non-toxic winning culture You can make a LOT of money here and you get great exposure across the greater Cisco org

Cons

For this role spacifically, commission is capped so that's a bit of a bummer but the good thing is there are always Spiffs to go over the cap

Pros

Great compensation and time off. No micromanagement. Great product that's known for its strength and solid brand

Cons

Lack of definitive direction with Cisco and old and outdated game plan. Competitors have caught up and sometimes surpassed Splunk leaving Splunkers looking for a new strategy; very small territories, incompetent hires in some management roles
