Pros
The pay is decent but not the most competitive.
Cons
As a young, white, open-minded, New York located male here’s my opinion: If you aren’t white and male, Splunk will NOT be an inviting place for you to work or thrive. The CEO does not support any sort of ethnic diversity. I’ve been at Splunk 3 years and have never seen the CEO or President interacting with African Americans at Splunk on a regular basis. All of the “diversity” initiatives are driven by a mostly white staff (that of course, don’t have any true passion when it comes to cultural awareness and unity). I’m married to an African America woman and have a step daughter that is African American and I can’t imagine my wife or daughter ever having the smallest opportunity for success or advancement at Splunk if they came here to work. Also, I’ve been reprimanded for suggesting ways to increase diversity and inclusion of other ethnic groups at Splunk. But here’s the good news: I’ve gotten an offer from VMWare and Cisco. So Splunk will soon be history in 3 weeks.
