Pros

Technology is great and there is tremendous buzz and intrest with this software. Prospective customers will talk to you however they wont buy due to prohibitive cost at the 5gb and under pricing.

Cons

Splunk is a 170 person company that acts like a billion dollars organization. Management blocks sales from getting deals done. Most people in SF have attitude and unwilling to help fellow coworkers out. They have one person in order managment who nit picks every deal that comes in and the order booking process is a joke. No corporate communication regarding company strategy and focus to lower level employees.

Pros

Great company with a postivie non-toxic winning culture You can make a LOT of money here and you get great exposure across the greater Cisco org

Cons

For this role spacifically, commission is capped so that's a bit of a bummer but the good thing is there are always Spiffs to go over the cap

Great compensation and time off. No micromanagement. Great product that's known for its strength and solid brand

Cons

Lack of definitive direction with Cisco and old and outdated game plan. Competitors have caught up and sometimes surpassed Splunk leaving Splunkers looking for a new strategy; very small territories, incompetent hires in some management roles
