Pros

Relaxed dress code Free coffee/tea (even though it's pretty bad) Relaxed hours Not too stressful for the most part, though it can be at times There are some newer people who brought good change to the company but Spok could use a lot more of it

Cons

-Taking away people's ability to work from home even though they were told that they'd be able to work from home when offered the job -The company is split in two and you can feel it, culture wise and product. -Management doesn't get along and want to all go in different ways -Poor planning and research is leading the company to burn through money -Very poor training as far as individual teams go. I've seen some other reviews saying this and HR claims a good training process. (Sure as far as Hr things, training was fine, but when it comes to technical training and team -onboarding...training and coming onto a team is pretty bad and not too fun. -Culture is not fun, inclusive, nor warm, which I guess there are many places that could be worse but just something to note. They do do events to try and create a culture but it's pretty fake-ish. I guess it just comes with being a bigger company. -Little room to grow or get a pay increase. Company hasn't increased pay in a while -Get pushed around a lot by the customers -Company/Management doesn't care about its employees. They try to pretend to care but you can feel it's not genuine.

Thank you for your feedback – we always value your opinions, both positive and negative. We strive to create a collaborative, transparent, and rewarding work environment at Spok and we’re sorry to hear about some of your experiences. We will consider your feedback and we’ll continue to find ways to improve in areas where we may be lacking. Our customers have validated their needs for call center, alarm management, mass notification, and other software solutions; and thus, have validated our vision for Spok Care Connect, the software platform that integrates communications for healthcare providers. To facilitate our innovation and expand our business to meet the needs of the market, we have invested in our strategy and development talent and doubled the size of those teams. We are committed to our strategy and believe we have the right leadership and team members to take us into an exciting future. With growth like we’re experiencing, there are often challenges that bring opportunity for improvement. For example, you mention training and shared that the HR training was satisfactory; improvement to the HR training process came from feedback gathered from new hires and we can now our surveys tell us we have a successful HR onboarding process. As we have invested in Spok Care Connect, we have brought in new leadership, who bring deep experience in healthcare IT and already introduced training, new methods and tools designed to support the success of the entire team. I can assure you, we do care about our employees and strive to create a very inclusive, warm and friendly environment. Sometimes, as you grow quickly, it’s difficult to create those relationships of trust and connectedness quickly. If you are willing to share more info with me, I would like the opportunity to discuss with you further on some of your concerns and address them in the spirit of continuous improvement and without retaliation. For instance, I’d be happy to hear what type of events we could do that you would enjoy. Please don’t hesitate to contact me via email or phone. Again, thank you for taking the time to share your opinion and I look forward to hearing from you.
