Pros

I came to Spot AI from a much larger company, where I spent years looking to transition to a start up but struggling to find the right fit. I've been here at Spot AI for over a year now and am glad I took a risk on this organization. The company has great product-market fit and a genuine path to scale and profitability. The company is building a new category (video intelligence) that presents immense opportunities to help organizations across pretty much any industry improve their operations. There are billions of security cameras in the world that are largely untapped as a source of data, and applying Spot AI's rapidly evolving AI capabilities to those feeds represents a brand new capability to gather data and insights that have previously been inaccessible or impractical. I see the technology unlocking value for customers every day and I really think we're just scratching the surface of what's possible. The leadership team here (and the culture they drive) is phenomenal. The cofounders are very forward looking and have made great decisions to position the company well even through recent turbulent times in the tech space. They have a strong vision for the company and are open with the "why" behind the decisions that they make. They're very conscious of the culture they're creating and trust their people. They will give you good guidance and the autonomy and resources to execute on it. The team is phenomenal as well. The company has done a great job of attracting talented (the author excluded) and motivated people and there's a strong culture of putting the customer first and working together to solve problems and win together.

Cons

Spot AI is growing like crazy and we're rapidly adding more and larger scale customers. The flipside of that is that any organization that grows this quickly will experience growing pains: You'll want to be comfortable with ambiguity if you're considering joining Spot AI, as you'll find yourself working on new problems with a lot of freedom to develop solutions and sometimes limited guidance on how to solve them. Processes and procedures are improving, but there's still a lot of areas where you'll be figuring things out as you go. This may be a pro or con, depending on your working style. I also find that leadership is in some ways learning to lead a large organization themselves. Occasionally this leads to missteps, though to their credit they're quick to listen to feedback and make changes to improve.

Pros

With the strict exception of sales leadership, spot ai has some of the best employees around. The engineering, sales, and cs team are top notch, but they have also survived some of the most consistent and degrading changes over the years going from a once 32 account executives strong, to it's current count of only 6 account executives.

Cons

Most of the best employees who helped put spot ai on the map were either unjustly fired, or left. Sales leadership typically only lasts about 6 months and employee churn from sales, to engineering, product development, deal desk, and marketing have all left.
