Pros
The people I worked with are some of the greatest people I have ever met. The amount of brain power in this place is crazy. Too bad they are all being wasted and burned out.
Cons
Wow, where do I even start? When I came on with Spreetail, I was SO excited. I was meeting so many amazing people and I was working a job that I was able to make my own decisions and do what I think was best for the company and customer. But ohhh, did that change. After I was done with on-boarding, I started getting closer with employees and I started to realize that so many are unhappy there. I tried to keep my head high, but then the essential tasks started coming. My first full-time week, I was given 5 tasks and expected to get everything done in a work day. Needless to say, your work days are 10 hours long, and you are taking phone calls and sending emails ALL DAY. There was not much time to get your tasks done; therefore, you are working beyond your 10 hours. A 45 hour work week turned more into a 55 hour+ week. I was on 8 essential tasks when I left. Oh but don't worry, you are compensated for alllllll of the overtime you work--this was a recruiting aspect that they pushed hardcore. It sounds all great until you are actually doing it. The company is TERRIBLE at communicating. They drop these bombshells on you. Company trip is cancelled? This was briefly announced at the company weekly meeting. Over 100 employees are fired? Again, announced at the weekly meeting. How is this a good way to deliver news or changes? Also in these weekly meetings, they show our revenue and other numbers that do not mean anything. I knew from the start that these numbers were being fluffed and they were hiding so much more. Why was the company trip cancelled? Cause they didn't make profit in 2018 and they also hired over 400 people in a year. They are asking to go under. Anyone with knowledge in finance knows that they are massively failing. I give it 2 years (that's being generous) before they are under and have to sell. The mantra is a load of crap. It is there for anyone to justify the poor decisions they are making just to tear you down. Don't believe a single word of it. Another huge no-no is the amount of micromanaging. Like WOW. I am a very independent worker, and the "Act like an Owner" was a huge drawing point for me. I was going to get to do my work and go on with my business. Towards the end that I was there, I was getting multiple emails and messages daily as to how I made a mistake. I was being told that I shouldn't do what I did. They lost all of their empathy, which was the foundation of their customer experience department. You have a company of so many young individuals that don't know crap about business and communicating. They should be embarrassed at how they act. I felt as if my every move was being watched. The leads seriously have nothing better to do than just that. Also, everyone is so catty and gossips like crazy. I felt like I was back in high school. One thing you are not allowed to do it talk negatively about a customer on the floor, which I respect. But we can talk bad about other co-workers on the floor next to other staff? HA, okay. Makes total sense to let a work environment turn completely toxic. A lot has changed for this company in the last year, and unfortunately, none of it is positive.
