Pros

* Individual teams were great, contributors collaborated and were fun to work with.

Cons

* Too much use of and reliance on Microsoft Excel spreadsheets that are decades old and maintained by the CEO's BFF * Get a chance to learn a monolithic product written using outdated technologies * Internal software product is a hot mess. Nobody even knows what half of the functionality does. * Priorities change like the wind. * People at many VP and above levels including CTO, CFO, CEO are in way over their heads * Completely unrealistic goals that are de-motivating. When the company goals are failed, they are simply re-iterated or increased instead of sensibly adjusted to something achievable * The goals make no sense for the individual contributors. Sure "increase warehouse throughput by 50%" is something that the average software developer can impact within a 6 month review period... even if that did make sense, it would take more than 1 review period to see that type of impact. * The CEO is accountable to nobody, and if you thought the Metaverse was a potentially scary idea, wait until you see the 100+ wish-list items this CEO has (with no clue how to prioritize or execute on basically any of it). When everything is a priority, nothing is... * No 401k match * Poor overall pay package compared to many other software companies

Pros

They are good at hiring many different terrific people.

Cons

Same thing you've read before. Cult-like culture. Weaponized, encoded feedback. Gendered expectations—I was given "feedback" to shrink myself to fit in; would they have said the same thing to a guy? Best was when my lead encouraged me to submit an anonymous survey for "feedback" on my character and performance to my entire team. :/
