Pros

Select coworkers who actually help at the bedside, amazing patients and families who trust you wholeheartedly, genera exposure to medical surgical nursing, food at FTT location is great. Covid bonuses were reasonable but you had to work your tail off to make real money as an aide

Cons

RNs and other aides, including charge, sit at the nurses station while you are expected to prevent 12+ folks from falling; pay not as good as agency or healthcare systems; do not consider other education or work experience for advancements No help with tuition, even partially, or time off for PRN. I had a masters degree and several years of ops and managerial experience before going back for my nursing license. The pay coupled with environment made me question my decision many times. There was a fall almost every night after I left from my second shift, and sometimes a fall or other harm before I got there. I am so fortunate that I never had a patient fall. I know these things can happen anywhere, but when you are constantly scrolling social media and talking at the nurses station, what do you expect?
