SMP is very loyal to its employees and has a lot of "engineers" that have been working at the company for decades. The pay is good, the work low stress and there is never a need to stay late.

Cons

There is no interest in innovation or improvement. New ideas or techniques are often discouraged and those that are motivated (or excited by engineering) often move on quickly.

Cons

They don’t care about there employee you can tell there a New York bas company. I was a temp so long they never offered me a position but alway said how good my work was. I work with an employee who was in the hospital with a very serious condition and they never check on her just asked when she would be back and wouldn’t honor the doctors return to work limitation she is currently battling her condition and stress she’ll have a job, she couldn’t work from home but other employee would work from home due to child care issue. I miss the job but not the company just the people.
