It's not the Customers, It's the Company. - Front End Associate Staples Employee Review

Pros

The Pros are few and far between - the company is at least adequate in working with personal time off for employees and they seem to have an effective Management Training program.

Cons

First of all, compensation (at least from Associate Managers down) is very poor; well below the national standard for similar positions. The 3 main positions within each store - Front End, Easy Tech, and Copy Center - all make minimum wage. While this may be fair wage for the Front End associates (but in my opinion, it is not), it is downright inexcusable for the Easy Tech and Copy Center associates. Their hard work and outstanding rapport with their customers brings in plenty of business to the store yet earns them next to nothing in return. Also, in my experience, Management on most levels is unresponsive to employees and sometimes is directly disrespectful. Though there are some good managers, my dealings with them have been difficult. Customers can be troublesome at any job, but the added stress of unhelpful coworkers and managers make the workday close to unbearable. Though I'm sure there are those out there who have had different experiences with the company, I would never recommend them to anyone searching for a job.
