Pros
My regular customers were great, they made it bearable to continue working here as did mostly all of my coworkers.
Cons
- Was told to come in when showing 3-4 COVID symptoms multiple times myself and other partners as well. - Scheduled outside of my documented availability multiple times and being told I need to find someone to take the incorrectly scheduled shift - manager being rude when frazzled, customer complaints about them and the whole staff has had at least one bad interaction with him - NEVER ENOUGH STAFF - Working in dangerous snow storms because we are "scheduled" so try harder people need coffee - manager standing literally right behind you and staring while asking how much longer as you prepare an item that was ordered 45 seconds ago and they stare at your DT times. - I personally just felt like I wasn't cared for at all working here during the pandemic, Starbucks preaches about the importance of community and fostering a safe environment for all but does not include their partners into this at all. We weren't even paid enough to be considered essential frontline workers and put ourselves, families and communities in danger. Overall, this job physically, emotionally and mentally drains me. I cry at work, before getting there and after I leave most days. It's June and I've used all my free sessions from Lyra that Starbs gives employees (obvious reasons why) We were given the slightest raise at some point in the last year but think about how Starbucks has completely bounced back as a company from the pandemic yet partners are still being overworked and underpaid.
