A lot of work for little pay & poor management - Bartender Stars and Strikes Employee Review

Pros

Discounted food, free bowling and games during non-peak hours for family members. Flexible schedule.

Cons

Management is constantly being told to cut hours and run a skeleton crew. Because of that, employees are over worked, covering a large portion of the floor, and good customer service is nearly impossible. Service industry professionals depend on tips and they only come from satisfied customers. The clientele has been going downhill fast. People are looking to take advantage of all you can bowl or play at low prices and don’t want to tip even for great service on, rare, nights with proper staffing. Management approach to employee concerns has been “ignore the issue and it will go away”! I specifically had issues with pay that were never addressed. Additionally, when hired, the website boasted an above average base/hourly rate of 7.25 for servers and bartenders. When I questioned the 2.13 an hour rate, I was told that that was something that you could possibly work up to.
