Pros

Benefits (PTO, 401k matching, pension plan, tuition reimbursement, insurance education ) Job security (there's always work)

Cons

Good luck getting any time off in this call center environment that they've created. You are just a number and might be considered less than a number, maybe more like a robot. No promotional or lateral opportunities. Everyone is resigning due to the micromanagement that goes on and they refuse to replace anyone. They don't communicate their plans until they're ready to implement the plans. Employees are left having to constantly speculate what will happen next and whether their office location will close based on the State Farm's mass office closures nationwide. Go on their hiring website and you have the following locations that you can choose to work from: Atlanta, Phoenix, Dallas, Bloomington. I suspect they will close all offices and keep the 4 I just mentioned, but then again I'm left having to speculate because everything is kept under wraps.

Pros

(At the time) Fair pay and predictable bonus structure They were pretty good at covering travel expenses and paying them back quickly Diverse workforce & diversity initiatives Fun and funny coworkers Opportunities for growth Again, this was all four years ago and has likely changed

Cons

(At the time and now, according to other comments) Arrogant to a fault Total lack of innovation & willingness to innovate Odd attachment to the company's past (which prevents progress) High number of veterans (20+ years) who are determined to get that retirement money, and therefore, are resistant to change and technology Heavy reliance on command and control management style Poor decision-making that leads to losses of all kinds
