Pros

Involved and caring main agent. Comes in everyday and works with clients too. Coaches new and old employees to provide exceptional service. Great commission program and benefits. Respected agency within State Farm and the community for 30 years of being a high performing agency. Very involved in the community and shares those opportunities with team members. Wants and supports us taking time off and for vacation. Promotes vacations by giving out a cash bonus when you take a vacation. As I said, one of the best agencies I've worked in.

Cons

Everyone in the office benefits too much. Even those who have not hit any goals. It's aggravating. Systems are often slow or not functioning and when try to get assistance on chat, State Farm employees have little to know knowledge. Luckily the main agent has 30 years experience and knows the answer and can direct. But creates inefficiency and costs, me, sales agent money. Also, No health insurance benefits but will co-op and covers costs of flu vaccinations and etc. if wanted.

Pros

(At the time) Fair pay and predictable bonus structure They were pretty good at covering travel expenses and paying them back quickly Diverse workforce & diversity initiatives Fun and funny coworkers Opportunities for growth Again, this was all four years ago and has likely changed

Cons

(At the time and now, according to other comments) Arrogant to a fault Total lack of innovation & willingness to innovate Odd attachment to the company's past (which prevents progress) High number of veterans (20+ years) who are determined to get that retirement money, and therefore, are resistant to change and technology Heavy reliance on command and control management style Poor decision-making that leads to losses of all kinds
