Pros

There are fantastic opportunities at State Street. The training program is extensive, the company is huge and encourages movement, and there is a strong focus on networking. If you are willing to work for it and have the right skills, you can move up quickly.

Cons

The company culture is that of workaholics. This comes all the way from senior management down to associate level employees. There is no work-life balance at all, and this isn't going to change. The pay is also below market, which State Street has recognized but doesn't plan to adjust. If you're aware of these issues it can be a great place to work, but most will not stay long term.

Pros

They offer resources for learning.

Cons

In my previous roles I've never felt burnout but with this one is the first I was feeling crush. I don't think managers take time to structure the tasks on a 8hrs or 10hrs per day. There are a lot of unrealistic expectations, no work-life balance at all. Even if you made the sacrifice to stay late, you will not be done with the work for the day.
