Pros

I have been in property management for 10 years. The pay is great with Steadfast. I am an Assistant Community Manager and I make more money than most apartment manager's in my state. If your site is preforming well, you get to close for an extra day or two around the holidays and its payed. You don't have to use a PTO. They give a monthly budget for employee lunches, bottled water, coffee, and snacks. We park in a covered garage and we have privet restrooms. No public restrooms (I will explain that later). I have my own stall! Good insurance. I love doing paperwork! Tons of paperwork here because we are a Tax Credit community.

Cons

We are basically a huge public housing high-rise. So the clientele is really rough. I have always worked in conventional and high end. This has been a HUGE change for me. We cant leave anything unlocked. The homeless will overtake the area. That is why we can't leave the bathrooms unlocked or let anyone use them. They will get vandalized. Also...Steadfast does not like to fire people. For some, that is great. For others that can be really stressful. It SUCKS when you have a half-ass team. You literally would have to show up drunk and naked to get fired from this place. I say drunk and naked because we have a maintenance man who I am pretty sure is drunk everyday. He reeks of booze. Because he keeps his clothes on, that has been his saving grace. I have caught ALL of the staff committing offences or telling huge lies about missing work or important things that totally could get someone fired. My Manager and I have reported this to our HR department (with proof) and they have done nothing. The money keeps me here. It can be stressful and you often feel pressured to work over 8 hours a day. I often think about this place when I go home.

Pros

This company just does it right. If you want to work for a company that treats you like family, provides opportunities for growth, and just does the customer experience right both internally and externally- this is the place to be. Benefits are great, and the people are even better. I couldn't have been more proud to work for this company.

Cons

Not really any cons to speak of- pay could be a bit better, but you could say that just about anywhere.
